What is CGC?
CGC is the AKC's program, "Canine Good Citizen". It is a test, that tries
to indicate if a dog is well mannored. It tests for things like
interactions with strangers, leash behaviour, appearance/grooming, and
more.
As of 2/2006, the current test stations are
- Accepts a Friendly Strange
- Sits Politely for Petting
- Appearance & Grooming
- Out for a Walk
- Walking Through a Crowd
- Sit / Down / Stay
- Coming when Called
- Reaction to Another Dog
- Reaction to Distractions
- Supervised Separation
